Found it!! It’s called the “Jive”, created by UK based Ben Arent.
The other endearing aspect is that the desktop system/object pair is called Betty. Considering we already humanize our machines (ie. “It won’t let me send email”), taking that next step to name her is pretty logical.
The commentary by some viewers in regards to the elderly seen as “luddites” really hit me. I don’t contest the implications of designs that further the phenomenon, but again, does “luddite” = increasingly physical interface? Are we who use “desktops” and “mice” more highly evolved because in a few keystrokes we can wield so much function?
