Part of the thesis project is seeing what your peers are up to. In a way, it eases anxiety about your future employment competition, but also brings your understanding beyond the thesis class. When you’ve only got a handful of students studying together, the world shrinks. Quickly.
Michelle Li, a interaction student in Hong Kong, put together this lovely thesis project inspired by the colloquial phrase “lost my marbles”. It’s an elegant approach to memory storage and playback. My favorite moment (1:56) is a sketch of the playback - visualizing multiple memories at once. I felt it true to form. Like those moments when you smell something and a slew of instances, prolonged memories, and snapshots flood your vision, recreating a range of experiences into a fleeting feeling. Beautiful.
